As I have mentioned briefly, this is my final season here at Tellurian Fruit Gardens as I have chosen not to renew my lease at the end of the financial year. I’ll be introducing you to the new lessees ASAP (Alex, Yoann, Terry and Ingrid) and you’ll have the opportunity to stay on their mailing list or be removed. Their intention is to continue the CSA in some form so i’m sure we can make it a smooth transition.
You may have noticed my comms have been simplified (and even a little thin) this season as I prioritise rest more than ever before. As a result I’m in a much healthier place than I was this time last year but I do feel like I have a lot to catch up on! So keep your eye on these emails over the next few months.
I’m really happy with how the CSA has gone this year! We started out strong with an excellent cherry season, got some beautiful apricots albeit not the variety/quantity that I would have liked, faced off Queensland Fruit Fly, and then we are finishing with an abundance of apples, something we haven’t seen in the last few years.
The plums this week are seconds. Some will be fine for eating and other may be better suited to stewing. I have run out of ‘firsts’ but I thought for the sake of diversity you might appreciate them. Enjoy!
