Gday all,
No surprises this week with your 22nd and final delivery of fruit. Pinks, Packhams and the last of the seconds plums.
I can’t thank you enough for your support over the last few years – especially our amazing hub hosts. As i’m sure many of you had not participated in a CSA before, I had not managed one prior to the inception of Tellurian Fruit Gardens. In fact, i’d never been on an orchard.
It’s been a wild ride. I’ve made plenty of mistakes, learnt a great deal and delivered the highest quality fruit in the most sustainable and ethical way that I could.
CSA is a radical redefining of the food system and I am lucky to have had such a dedicated group of people with me on this journey. I feel proud that together we have asserted our food sovereignty in spite of the things that we accept as the status quo (convenience, cheap commodified food, out of season produce, excessive food miles, excess packaging etc etc).
I hope you’ve enjoyed being a part of this farm as much as I have.
Cheers, Ant.
PS. The total value for the 3kg and 4.5kg CSA shares is $735 and $1077 respectively.
What’s in the box?
- Plums – Angelino (seconds)
- Pears – Packham (firsts + seconds)
- Apples – Pink Lady
Total value 3kg: $22.5
Total value 4.5kg: $33.75
See here for descriptions and tasting notes on some of the varieties.
Hi Ant,
You have done an amazing job at managing the fruit garden and have cheerily supplies us with fabulous fruit for both summers. Thanks so much for all of you endless effort.
I’m wondering about the final value of the fruit for the year. Can I compensate you? Can you make a call out to do so? I paid $500 but if the market Babur was $735, you’re short a bit of cash to see you on to your next venture.
Penny
Thanks Penny, that’s a very kind thought! I’ll have a think about putting a call out. In the meantime, I certainly won’t knock back your offer (but no expectation). You can make a deposit to the same account where you originally paid (I’ll text it to you). Please include your name and ‘TFG CSA’ in the reference. Thanks again!
