Stone fruit season is upon us! As a result of the challenging spring weather we had, it’s been a slow start to the season with few apricots around. However, the cherries have been abundant and so this Saturday, I will be starting my weekly attendance at Coburg Farmers Market.

My volunteer resident Sam and I will be under our Harcourt Organic Farming Co-op banner with freshly harvested ‘Rons’ and ‘Vista’ cherries. The Vista are quite ripe so they have in intense rich flavour and soft flesh. The Rons are almost as sweet but with a firmer texture.

There may even be a very small handful of plums, peaches and apricots for those that get in early. I’m very excited to be back at Coburg once again so I’ll see you there!

Cheers, Ant.
